The exhibition "My Diary" by Bedi Ibrahim makes a contemporary dialogue with the past
The exhibition "My Diary" by Bedi Ibrahim has been installed in the Cultural and Information Center of RS Macedonia in Istanbul, Turkey. The works of Bedi Ibrahim in the past decades testify to an impressive multimedia creation, where the basic idea and motive for the concept of his preoccupations and personal artistic handwriting are present.
He creates in different media and expressive art disciplines (drawing, collage, sculpture, object pictures, video, installation...), which are only a tool of visualization of conceptual ideas for self-reflection.
The visual motif in his artistic discourse becomes a metalanguage or visual text through which he clarifies his thoughts about art as an unlimited and infinite space of expression, carries with it an authenticity that is the sublimation of an autochthonous – creative transcript.
– By processing and transforming visible artifacts, Bedi Ibrahim establishes a contemporary dialogue with the past, creating surrealistic associative forms. That process of redefining the visible content into the surreal is accentuated by a dense psychological charge and eclecticism in its materialization. Reality is always contained in the imaginative rapture and surreal perception.
The exhibition in Istanbul is composed of several thematic units ("Birds", "Nest", "Gates"...) present in the work of Bedi Ibrahim, whose mutual relationship constitutes the joining of micro narratives, which create a new aesthetic conceptual whole - a macro narrative with common denominator marked by the author as "My diary" - pointed out by the "Zero" Collective.
