At yesterday's session of the Council of the Municipality of Karpos, the only item on the agenda was the proposed decision to oblige the mayor and the Municipality to stop issuing building permits, prohibiting the start of construction and conducting an audit of the DUP for the city quarter Z 05 block 08. The plan envisaged the construction of a 28-story tower next to the "Bucharest" polyclinic, which caused negative reactions in the public.

At the meeting, which was not attended by the councilors from SDSM and GROM, with 12 votes "for", a decision was made prohibiting the issuance of a building permit within the DUP for the city quarter Z 05 block 08, i.e. in the section where it is planned construction of the 28-storey building.

- With the decision, the Municipality undertakes to carry out a report on the suspension of this DUP and to start a procedure for its revision. Currently, that DUP is the opposite of the GUP and the line cents that are above plan. We expect that with the revision, there will be a new survey with which the citizens will give their opinion on how that part of the DUP should be arranged - Ristov said.

The President of the Council, Branko Ristov, expects the municipality to respect the decision and publish it in the "Official Gazette" of the Municipality of Karpoš, which will make it final.

Unlike him, Mayor Stevco Jakimovski says that they will neither publish the decision in the "Official Gazette" nor can these councilors do what they are doing.

- A decision contrary to the law cannot be made. Their conception is to make it impossible to enact any plan. Karposh is currently as if it were in 1945, without urban plans, which means that people can neither upgrade nor build on. It is a serious problem - claims Jakimovski and adds that where there is an urban plan, they try to demolish it at the Constitutional Court, and where they cannot demolish them, they undertake to do revisions to stop Karpoš.
