Afrim Gashi, as the President of the Parliament, will inform the head of state that the parliament has been constituted, between June 5 and 8, the president will give Mickoski the mandate to form a government, and Macedonia is expected to get a new government by June 20.

Afrim Gashi from the "Vredi" coalition was elected as the new president of the Macedonian Assembly with 76 "yes" votes, which opened the way for the president of the state Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova to award the mandate to the leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, for formation of the new government. MPs from the Left voted against Gashi's election, while MPs from the European Front led by DUI were not in the hall. The newly elected speaker read the oath first in Albanian, and then in Macedonian.

The Assembly previously verified the mandates of 118 deputies, but the European Front led by DUI did not vote either on the agenda of the session, or on the verification of the deputies' mandates. Due to the revoting, however, the mandates of two more MPs will be further verified.
With the signatures of 75 MPs from VMRO-DPMNE, the "Vredi" Coalition and the ZNAM Movement, Gashi has been proposed as the President of the Assembly. The MPs from the European Front left the assembly hall.

A high-ranking official of VMRO-DPMNE briefs "Sloboden Pechat" that after Gashi, as the Speaker of the Assembly, informs the Head of State that the Parliament has been constituted, between June 5 and 8, the President will grant Mickoski the mandate to form a government and that it is expected until June 20 for Macedonia to get a new government.

According to the information, after the constitutive session of the Assembly, and before the session for the election of the Government, the ruling majority will propose a package of amendments to the laws on the organization of the Government and on local self-government. The Law on Government will be changed so that the division of portfolios can be according to the reorganization of the ministries already announced by Mickoski, while the Law on Local Self-Government will be changed so that there will be no early local elections if mayors become MPs or ministers. If the majority changes the laws, which requires a two-thirds majority, then Gostivar Mayor Arben Taravari from the Alliance for Albanians is certain to be the new Minister of Health, Airport Mayor Timcho Mutsunski from VMRO-DPMNE Minister of Defense, and the Mayor of Saraj from DUI, Blerim Bejeti, to be an MP. In such a case, the three municipalities will continue to be managed by the acting mayor. mayors from the respective parties.

In parallel with the constitution of the parliament, the negotiations between VMRO-DPMNE, "Vredi" and the ZNAM Movement of Maxim Dimitrievski for the new government composition are coming to an end. The first and second government echelons between VMRO-DPMNE and "Vredi" have been distributed, and the talks with ZNAM about the deputy ministerial posts, as well as the division of the directorships, are ending.

Sources from the negotiating teams brief that "Vredi", apart from the Speaker's chair in the Parliament, gets the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Environment position, which will be managed by the leader of the Democratic Movement, Izet Majiti. The health department will probably be managed by Taravari, Besar Durmishi, the chairman of the Tetovo Council, will be the Minister of Economy and Labor, Fatmir Limani from Besa will manage the Ministry of Social Policy, ex-minister Admirim Aliti is in the running for European integration, and Bujare Abazi from Alliance. for the department of good governance.

"Vredi" also gets 7 deputy minister positions, 5 state secretaries, as well as director positions that are still being negotiated. Unofficially, "Vredi" will get the deputy minister positions that DUI had in the government of Dimitar Kovacevski.

At VMRO-DPMNE, the most difficult portfolios remain, namely the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Finance, for Transport and Communications, for Education and Science, for Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for Agriculture, for Local Self-Government, for Defense, for Energy, as well as for Political system. According to information from "Sloboden Pechat", the departments of political system and agriculture will be managed by the smaller coalition partners of VMRO-DPMNE, from the parties of the Serbs and the Socialist Party.

ZNAM gets two ministerial positions, namely the justice department and one without a department. If the Law on Government is amended before the formation of the Government, ZNAM will manage the new Ministry of Administration.
A senior official from "Vredi" briefs that after the election of Gashi as the president of the Assembly, the general secretary will be from VMRO-DPMNE, while the vice-presidents of the Assembly will be from VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM. Although SDSM and DUI each have 18 MPs, the social democrats will have an advantage for the vice-president of the Assembly because they won more votes than the European Front in the elections. VMRO-DPMNE have not yet decided whether Nikola Micevski will be the coordinator of the parliamentary group in the new parliamentary composition, while the coordinator of the "Vredi" coalition will be Halil Snopce.

Before the start of the constitutive session of the Assembly, the leaders of DUI and DPA, Ali Ahmeti and Menduh Thaci, refused to say whether they would support the election of Gashi as the Speaker of the Assembly. The Left, led by Dimitar Apasiev, is against the election of an Albanian as President of the Assembly. According to Apasiev, with the election of Gashi, the Kosovization of the country is expected.

- VMRO-DPMNE will be given unprecedented support for the projects, as long as an Albanian is not the president of the Assembly. It is unconstitutional to preside in another language in the Parliament, and this means that the illegal law on bilingualism will continue to be applied - Apasiev said.

The leader of VMRO-DPMNE Mickoski, on the other hand, retorted to Apasiev that Levica behaves like a "group of thugs".

– Should we comment on Dimitar Apasiev? Before the elections, he had a blank offer from VMRO-DPMNE to join and stand on the side of Macedonian national unity. He decided to focus more on making plans where he will enjoy this summer - whether in Hurghada or on a Greek beach. As one of his former party members said that "they were a group of idiots", this is how he continues to treat her - said Mickoski.

The president of ZNAM, Maksim Dimitrievski, said that they expect a lot from this parliamentary composition and wished them luck.

– As a potential partner in the future government, we will contribute to political action. We are discussing the implementation of our program objectives in the future government - said Dimitrievski.

Riyad Shakiri from "Vredi" also gave a statement before the session, otherwise the son of Hisni Shakiri, a former deputy of DUI, who left the Parliament in 2001 and went to UCHK. When asked if he expects support from the DUI for the election of Gashi as speaker, he replied that he expects support from the DUI and the European Front, because the Alliance for Albanians in the last parliamentary composition voted for Talat Xhaferi from the DUI as president of the Assembly, as he was the first Albanian president of the Assembly.
The leader of Besa, Bilal Kasami, did not have his parliamentary mandate verified yesterday, because the day before he informed the Assembly in a letter that he was resigning from his mandate and remaining mayor.

Left: Gashi will be a worse speaker than Xhaferi

The election of Afrim Gashi as the President of the Parliament was strongly opposed by the MPs of the Left. According to them, Gashi does not respect the national anthem, his election will mean the realization of a "Kosovo platform" with which Macedonia will become the third Albanian state. The left accused VMRO-DPMNE of false patriotism.

Borislav Krmov

Borislav Krmov from Levica said that in the past four years, Gashi has not taken the floor even once, and only once entered into a verbal duel at one of the committees in the parliament, and that Gashi neither has experience for that position, nor does he have deputies behind him. to deserve it, because only two members from his Alternative party were elected to the Parliament. According to Krmov, Gashi will be worse as speaker of the Parliament than Talat Xhaferi, because he does not even know what he is getting into.

– How many MPs do you need if 61 are not enough for you to take the most important position in the country? - asked Krmov and added another question "how is the will of the Macedonian people fulfilled in this way if they 'serve' Vredi with such parliamentary power".

He pointed out that it was an MP from Gashi's party who sang the Albanian national anthem in the Parliament, claiming that by appointing Gashi as the first person, they are entering into "binationality", which is not even in the Ohrid Agreement, with the message that Gashi is not even needed for this position. to give, but only to write that he is Albanian.

The deputies of the Left were replicated by the coalition "Vredi" and VMRO-DPMNE. According to them, the patriotism of the Left is false.

Mickoski: The address of the Left is a reality show

Mickoski, in his first address as an MP in the Parliament, apologized to the citizens for the discussions of the MPs from the Left. He assessed the address as a reality show, with which they try to devalue the MPs, but also the citizens who massively supported VMRO-DPMNE in the elections.

– I just want to say a few things. Years of reforms, development, rule of law and uncompromising fight against crime and corruption await Macedonia. These people (the Left) had the opportunity to stand behind these policies and not only Macedonians voted for them, but from all ethnic communities. The first time you missed that chance when you refused to join the Macedonian national unity and the second time when you did not vote for Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova as president - Mickoski said.

Ahmeti for the first time in the opposition bench

DUI leader Ali Ahmeti sat on the left side of the plenary hall for the first time in 20 years after being a member of parliament, i.e. on the seats reserved for the opposition in the Parliament.

The European Front led by DUI remained in the opposition even though it won more mandates than the "Vredi" coalition, because the leader of VMRO-DPMNE is conducting the negotiations for a new government with "Vredi" and Maxim Dimitrievski's ZNAM.

DUI led by Ahmeti was also the opposition in the first government led by Nikola Gruevski from 2006, but then, as a sign of revolt, the deputies did not enter the Parliament, but protested at crossroads.
