Skopje appeal upholds verdict in "Violence in the Center" case

The Skopje Court of Appeals upheld the first instance verdict of the Skopje Criminal Court in the case "Violence in the Municipality of Centar", in which the first defendant Nikola Gruevski was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison, and the others were sentenced to suspended sentences, ie alternative measures. At the same time, the Skopje Appellate Court returned the "Tarifa" case for retrial.

- The appellate court acting on the appeals of the defendants and their defense counsels, filed against the first instance verdict - K. No. 1904/16, from the prosecution marked as "Violence in O. Center", from 29.09.2020, rejected the appeals as unfounded, and the verdict of the Criminal Court is upheld. With the verdict, seven defendants were found guilty and convicted of: N.G. - imprisonment for a period of 1 year and 6 months, while M.J., AT, DS, DT, T.P. and I.B. on an alternative measure - Probation, say the Basic Criminal Court Skopje.

The "Tarifa" case was returned by the Skopje Appellate Court for retrial

- KOK Ж no. 50/20 by which the Appellate Court annulled the first instance judgment - KOK no. 51/17 from the prosecution marked as "Tariff" and returned the case for retrial, whereby a new case was registered with KOK no. 123/21 for which after the deadline for starting the main hearing is set, the parties and the public will be additionally notified, announced the Basic Criminal Court Skopje.
