Europe is now facing a serious response, what European values and what messages it will send to the citizens of Northern Macedonia, but also to the Western Balkans, but also to their own citizens in the EU. We have shown success in the reforms. Now we are working on the next step and that is the right intergovernmental conference, said today the Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.

- Because if someone deserved, if someone waited the longest, if someone showed European manners and values and reached serious bilateral agreements, he succeeded one hundred percent in the reforms, finally in March 2020 the success in the reforms from all 27 member states was confirmed one hundred percent. Now it is the next step of the first intergovernmental conference and I believe that Europe owes us that and Europe will take it as a step forward, said Zaev.

Regarding whether S. Macedonia and Albania should go together on the road to the EU, Zaev said that he wants Albania as our neighbor to go with us, we should move together, we will help each other in this whole process and, he says, he expects nothing less than that for our citizens because our people deserve and expect Europe to be European and to deliver European as it looks.

Regarding the talks on resolving the issue with Bulgaria, Zaev stressed that he does not lose hope that the talks can continue with a technical or interim government.

- Bulgaria is already announcing that it will go to the polls in July, they will make a decision. First, I think the states are talking. First, there is a president in Bulgaria, there is a president in northern Macedonia. The government is probably working full-time in Bulgaria as well as our government. It is about the part that is discussed at European level and the part at bilateral level. If we are not fully prepared politically by Bulgaria for the bilateral level, we can continue the bilateral talks somewhere when there is a political government. But now we can solve the European part, added Prime Minister Zaev.
