The basic public prosecutor's office in Skopje initiated a procedure against a 43-year-old man from Skopje, who is suspected of having committed three crimes - Aggravated theft under Article 236 paragraph 1 point 3 of the Criminal Code.

During the previous procedure, evidence was provided that on October 20 and 26, 2022, in a clothing store in the City Shopping Center in Skopje, the suspect took advantage of the carelessness of two women and stole their mobile phones - one worth 20.000 and the other worth 77.000 denars, say the prosecution.

On March 23 of this year, however, the suspect took advantage of the crowd in a city bus that was moving along the "Metropolitan Teodosij Gologanov" boulevard, and took a mobile phone worth 20.000 denars from the pocket of a passenger.

Evaluating that there is a danger of the suspect's escape, the competent public prosecutor submitted to the Basic Criminal Court Skopje a proposal for the determination of a detention measure. The court accepted the proposal and ordered detention for 8 days, added the JO.
