A scandalous end to a glittering career: The famous host resigned because of an affair with a much younger colleague

The famous British host Philip Schofield resigned from the show on Friday after admitting to the Daily Mail that he had lied about the "unwise but not illegal" affair with a much younger man. He also apologized to his wife Stephanie Lowe, with whom he was almost 30 years, who stood by him after he came out as gay in 2020.

"I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on 'This Morning.' But recently 'Ova Utro' has become the story itself," Filip said on social networks after the announcement of the decision
The duo entertained the entire audience 13 years, and Holly reportedly gave the producers an ultimatum to decide whether she wanted him or her because there was no other way.
Initially, the cause of the quarrel was the trial of Philip's brother, Timothy, for sexual abuse of children. Timothy is accused of 12 years in prison, and Philip kept it a secret from his colleague who found out everything from the newspapers, which allegedly angered and hurt her. Despite this, Philip returned to the show after a short break and emphasized that Holly is a great support to him on the set, but also in his private life.

And then new details were revealed.
Namely, a few days after his resignation, the host revealed that he was in a relationship with a much younger man who worked with him on the show "This morning" and that all this happened while he was still in marriage to wife Stephanie Lowe. It wasn't until 2020 that Philip publicly admitted that he was homosexual, and then Holly said she's never been prouder of him.
The presenter also claimed that none of his superiors knew about this affair, but his former colleague Eamon Holmes took to social media and accused the former bosses of knowing everything and never taking action.
"We have accepted Philip's resignation and he will no longer appear on the small screen," the official statement said.

The presenter Philip met his former lover when he was only 15 years old and he approached him.
"Contrary to speculation, although I met this man when he was a teenager when he asked me to help him find a job in television, it was only after he started working on the show that our relationship became more than friendly. That relationship was not wise, but it was not illegal. Now it's ready," Philip further revealed.
"My sincerest wish is that he and his family can get on with their lives without further interference and this statement will enable them to do that," Philip concluded of his career-ruining ex-lover.
