The police union in Macedonia protested on Saturday
The police union in Macedonia will hold a protest on May 8 under the slogan "For order, for justice, for discipline", due to, as they state, the pressure on the police, illegal distribution, insufficient number of uniforms.
- We have a collective agreement, which has expired for four years, an agreement with which employees have no rights and the rights in the agreement are not respected, said today the President of the Police Union in Macedonia, Orce Kocevski at a press conference in front of the offices of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Macedonia.
Kocevski stressed that the Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski does not convey the true picture to the public and it is necessary to hear the opinion of police officers.
- The protest will start in front of the offices of the European Union and we will move to the Government where we will express our dissatisfaction, announced the president of the union.
He called on all members of the Police Union, MoI employees, all fellow members of the fraternal unions to support the protest.
- One of the priority requirements is an increase in salaries. Only police salaries are frozen, there is no coronavirus supplement. Besides health workers and police officers are in the forefront of the pandemic, Orce Kocevski answered a journalist's question regarding their demands.
He adds that by abolishing the union membership fee of the members, the Police Union can not do its job.
The President of the Police Union in Macedonia announced that on Saturday they will submit a written request to the Government and the Prime Minister and expects that someone will seriously consider the requests, and if the requests are not reviewed by the authorities, Kocevski said they would take more radical steps.
