Strong explosions rang out yesterday near the Ukrainian nuclear power plant Zaporozhye, which is under Russian occupation, the UN nuclear energy agency, IAEA, announced.

The President of the IAEA, Raphael Grossi, who visited Ukraine last week, said that yesterday the Agency registered strong explosions near the largest nuclear power plant in the world and once again called for the establishment of a "safe zone" around the nuclear power plant.

Russian forces launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine yesterday, firing more than 50 missiles at targets across the country. The Ukrainian military said it shot down more than 40 Russian missiles, adding that the Russians used hypersonic Dagger missiles in the attack. The Russian strikes came a day after the US and Germany announced the delivery of advanced Leopard 2 and Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
