Siljanovska-Davkova at a meeting with Duda: Continued support of Poland on the Macedonian European integration path

Head of State Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, as part of the participation in the Summit for Peace in Ukraine held in Switzerland, today met with the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.

Siljanovska-Davkova's office informs that at the meeting opinions were exchanged on bilateral relations, on the situation in the region, European integration and global security challenges, as well as the cooperation of the two countries as allies in NATO.

- The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the excellent cooperation established on traditional friendship and stated that the two countries share a relationship created during three decades of cooperation, mutual respect, trust and understanding. It was pointed out that this year we are celebrating 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, which is proof of permanent partnership and common values ​​- the announcement states.

The president welcomed the "unequivocal support from Poland on the long Macedonian path to the EU" and emphasized the "importance of the continuous and open support of Poland on the Macedonian European integration path".

- He thanked for the support so far, pointing out that the Polish experiences will be of great benefit to us for the accession process to the EU. She emphasized that we are unequivocally committed to the EU integration agenda, and in that context, she expressed her expectation for strong support from international partners and EU institutions to ensure that our membership process continues smoothly. President Siljanovska-Davkova said that it is crucial that the European perspective of the candidate countries is not hindered by the veto due to irrational bilateral issues, but the process should be conducted exclusively through the prism of fulfilling the Copenhagen criteria, Siljanovska-Davkova's Cabinet informs.

At the invitation of the President of the Swiss Confederation, Viola Amherd, today and tomorrow in Burgenstock on Lake Lucerne in Switzerland Siljanovska Davkova is participating in the Peace Summit in Ukraine.
