Siljanovska: If we respect each other and if we have the will to understand each other, then the solution is within reach
Today's meeting between President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev in Sofia took place in a pleasant debate atmosphere, Siljanovska stressed and added that there is no specific date yet, but it is certain that Radev will visit Skopje.
"It is a fact that the dialogue is a key solution", emphasized Siljanovska Davkova, summarizing the meeting with the Bulgarian colleague and added about the atmosphere of the dialogue they conducted. "Honestly, each of us expressed our opinion, we listened to each other with respect, but the fact is that we represent the national interests of one and the other country," she said.
- It turned out that the word, the word, is the most important in the Bible. Once again it has been shown that when you sit down to talk guided by good will bona fide and not by mala fide you will make a big step towards finding mutually important solutions. I am not here by chance, I came to talk, and of course I am now expecting President Radev to come to Skopje. I think that, and I am sure that, as I often say, thought can be faster than light if we listen to each other, if we respect each other, if we have the will to understand each other, then the solution is within reach, emphasized Siljanovska Davkova.
Answering journalist's questions, she pointed out that she and President Radev were united about European integration, the Copenhagen criteria, the regional approach to solving problems, about the fact that we will learn the Bulgarian lessons, we will not have to repeat the mistakes and that we will look for a compromise and a common solution without anyone feeling insulted or hurt and without anyone thinking they were forgotten.
Behind closed doors in Radev's office, he said that they did not discuss the issue of including Bulgarians in the Constitution, nor any other specific issues.
- If I were an absolute monarch, I could change the Constitution, but the deputies represent the citizens, they vote according to their own conviction. I cannot suspend parliamentary democracy, but of course we discussed all issues, I say we discussed, because we cannot bring a solution, nor impose it on the nation and others. But we talked and that is healthy, said the president Gordana Siljanovska Davkova.
She announced that the Bulgarian president will unfortunately not accompany her to the Sofia Opera and Ballet tonight, where they were supposed to see the opera "Nabucco" at the National Opera and Ballet together, due to the tragedy that happened at the Graf Ignatievo Air Base when a military plane crashed. two Bulgarian pilots died.
