The Russian president Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and the Chinese president Xi Jinping signed two agreements to extend their strategic partnership until 2030, with Russian state television broadcasting the ceremony held in the Kremlin.

On the second day of Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow, the two leaders continued high-level talks. He invited Putin to visit Beijing this year. Russian President Vladimir Putin met again today with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping during Moscow.

Putin, who has been largely isolated on the international stage since the invasion of Ukraine, said the two leaders had signed major deals to expand their strategic cooperation as well as increase Russian energy supplies to China.

"The two statements we signed fully reflect the special nature of Russian-Chinese relations, which are a model of true partnership and strategic interaction," Putin said.

After the meeting, Putin hailed the talks as "successful and constructive", while Xi described them as "open and friendly".

The Russian president touted his country's ability to meet China's energy needs. - Russian business is able to satisfy China's growing demand for energy transmission, Putin said, adding that work is underway on a new gas pipeline that will connect the two countries, which in the future could transport up to 50 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

Trade with China is an important substitute for Russia after losing lucrative contracts with EU countries. China will get a discount for purchasing energy, writes Deutsche Welle.

For his part, the Chinese leader spoke of strengthening business ties between the two neighbors.

"I suggest strengthening our coordination and cooperation, Xi said. "We can see the early harvest of (our) cooperation, and further cooperation is being promoted," he added.

The Chinese president, who is one of the few world leaders to visit Moscow since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine last year, extended a return invitation to Putin to visit Beijing later in the year. - I invite you to visit China as soon as possible, Xi said, extending the invitation to the Russian Prime Minister as well. Mikhail Mishustin.

The invitation comes shortly after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Putin over the alleged deportation of children from Ukraine, but neither Russia nor China nor the United States recognize the court's jurisdiction, meaning a visit to Beijing will not put Putin in any danger.

Xi Jinping said at a joint press conference with Putin that Beijing has an impartial view on the conflict in Ukraine and supports peace and dialogue. He said that China is on the right side of history on the issue of Ukraine. He emphasized that his government is for active reconciliation and is always for peace and dialogue.

Xi, like Putin, mentioned trade relations between Russia and China. He says the focus will be on growth in three areas: energy trading, raw materials trading and electronics trading.

At the joint press conference, Putin said that the West is fighting to the end in Ukraine. He added that Moscow will react to the announcement that Britain will send armored missiles containing depleted uranium to Ukraine.

"The West is not yet ready for China's peace plan for Ukraine." "China's peace proposals could be used as a basis for resolving the conflict in Ukraine when Kiev and its Western allies are ready," Putin concluded.
