Swiss authorities have announced how much interest UBS and Credit Suisse will have to pay on the 250 billion Swiss francs granted by Bern to rescue the troubled bank, Reuters reported.

Credit Suisse will have to pay an interest rate of 1,5 percent plus 0,5 percent to access the emergency liquidity assistance scheme, the country's central bank announced. The bank said earlier this month that it intended to lend up to 50 billion francs from the scheme, which requires loans to be secured by assets such as mortgages and securities.

As part of the Credit Suisse rescue operation, the two banks also received access to additional liquidity of up to 100 billion francs. Banks are granted aid from the central bank with an interest rate of 3 percent, BTA reported.
