Shukova: We offer solutions to high prices because the government does not offer them
"We see that there is no consumer protection at all, we see prices rising, we see that there is no support for the economy, and that is why we are coming out with a set of seven measures, the first of which is the law that we submitted to the parliament today, with which we are requesting an intervention in the tax on electricity and basic food products," said SDSM Vice President Kaya Shukova on the "Top Topic" show on "Telma".

Shukova emphasized that this will directly affect the money remaining in the pockets of citizens.
"It is inconceivable to us how, at a time when there is low inflation of 2-3%, there can be an enormous increase in prices of 30%. We think that citizens should be protected at this moment, as we did when we had inflation of more than 15% and when we could provide packages for both citizens and the economy and we managed to keep the budget stable, I think that this government should accept this proposal of SDSM and the coalition and help citizens, because it is obvious that they cannot cope with these prices," said Shukova.
She added that the Law on Unfair Trade Practices, as a mechanism that will help regulate prices, is in force, but not implemented.
"Citizens have been expecting for months, after all the analyses that are being done, the inspections that are going into the markets, that there will be some set of measures, and the government is not responding with measures that were expected, that were announced, then postponed," said Shukova, adding that the government should offer solutions to citizens.
"Since the government does not offer solutions, we offer solutions," said SDSM Vice President Kaya Shukova on the "Top Topic" show on Telma TV.
