Due to a strike, rail traffic in Austria is completely suspended.

The one-day warning strike also affected all international rail connections with Austria. The German operator "Deutsche Bahn" announced that night trains to and from Austria will be suspended until tomorrow.

In Austria, inflation has reached 11 percent, and railway workers are demanding an average 12 percent increase in wages to make up for the losses. As employers' representatives yesterday offered an increase of only 8,4 percent, negotiations were suspended without setting a date for new negotiations.

The state railway company "ÖBB" last week, even before the Sunday strike, called for no train travel to be planned today. According to "ÖBB", about eight thousand passenger and freight trains run daily in Austria, and about a million passengers are transported.
