Snezana Stojcevska is a Macedonian poetess, part of the literary scene, with several published collections of poetry. She is represented in several anthologies of young Macedonian poetry and a regular participant in poetic events in the country and abroad. Works as an editor in the magazine for literature, culture and art "Sovremenost" and is a member of the DPM. Together with a group of writers - friends, she is the organizer of the first Skopje Poetry Festival.

Snezana told us what her day and night looks like.

"I am not a morning person, although I would like to be. I envy people who start the day early and with serenity. I wake up hard and with an alarm clock. If the alarm clock fails to wake me up, here's my cat Pepe to do it. As much as I do not want to get up, I can not be angry with him and resist him. It puts me in the mood right away! He makes me smile and he is happy, he runs around me like a puppy. After feeding and settling it, I make myself coffee and take time to wake up from dreams, which can often be intense. While I drink my coffee, Pepe hunts the pigeons that fly away in the morning, catching the crumbs that the tenants throw out of their windows. Usually I do not have breakfast, but I take breakfast with me to work.

This is the fourteenth year I have worked in the film production "Quasar Film", which is my second home. I love my job, it fulfills me and makes me happy. During the day I find time to complete the responsibilities I have as executive editor of the magazine for culture, literature and art "Sovremenost". I am currently working on my latest book "Empty Place", which I hope will be published by the end of the year. I am also working on the translation of a book of short stories entitled "88" by the poet and writer Nadia Rebronja from Serbia.

When I come home from work I try not to sit at the computer again and rest my eyes. After lunch I usually watch news and debate shows, on which I usually fall asleep together with the cat. That afternoon hug with the cat is my favorite part of the day. That is why I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to house at least one animal from the street. The nap is followed by time for tea, a book and / or a series. I read a lot. I look forward to following everything my colleagues write, but I also find time to return to the good old classics. Of course I have a bunch of books waiting for their turn.

My daily life before the pandemic is very different from this now. Before the pandemic, at least three to four times a week I spent my evenings at cultural events, book promotions, poetry readings, theater plays, concerts, exhibitions and film screenings, and of course socializing. My interest in cultural events is due to the fact that as a child I had the privilege to grow up in the MOB. My agenda was filled out a month in advance, I knew which day I would go and what I would do. At first, the pandemic hit me hard, especially the quarantines, and I could not adjust to the reality. Now I'm used to spending my evenings peacefully. Finally it was my turn to read all the books I had collected over the years, but I did not get to read them. Now that I'm back to normal I'll need time to get used to it and I'm sure I'll not go out with the same intensity. I managed to find peace. I feel comfortable and happy in my own skin and in my own home. I have enough free time to be able to do the things I love.

Some evenings I am honored with the company of my son, who will be a high school graduate this year. When he is not at a gig or out with friends, we sit down together and talk about life and his plans for the future. It is wonderful to have such a son who is full of life enthusiasm, ideas and ideals. I really enjoy his intelligence, empathy, talent and sense of humor. When I look at it, I know that I have done something good in life and that for a single mother is the greatest satisfaction and success. "I have built a person with a healthy moral compass, good and handsome as his name is, Kalin, but not naive, so that he can cope in this cruel world we live in."
