What is he doing today: Boban Todorovski, professional makeup artist and hairdresser
Boban Todorovski is 28 years old, lives and works in Skopje as a professional hairdresser and make-up artist, and has recently been the owner of the newly opened studio "Bob Cut Experience" in the heart of the capital.
His success story begins at the "Dimitar Vlahov" high school in Skopje as a cosmetic technician, and after high school he decides to perfect his craft at the Make-up Academy in Belgrade. Ten years of professional experience in this work improves him daily, and every new day is a new challenge and a new creative adventure for him.
Boban captured for us what his day looks like...
"I wake up between 7 and 9, but the most important thing for me is to be asleep for at least 8 hours. Eight hours of sleep is enough for me to complete my daily tasks with full energy. The first thing I do is stretch and wake up my body on the yoga mat. 20 minutes is enough for me to charge the batteries with positive sparks.
I keep the morning selfishly for myself. A verse from Atso Shopov says this: "If you carry something unspoken, something that presses and burns you, bury it in deep silence, the silence will say it by itself...". That's why I love when I'm, I would say, alone, those moments are rare, because I really can't always afford that luxury, but I want it sometimes so I can see how far I've come.
Next is the music. I experience music as medicine for the soul, and what kind of music I listen to depends on my mood that morning. I am a big fan of Macedonian music because I grew up with it. I like sad, but also happy songs. A guitar sound and good vocals or live performances are always in play.
Breakfast is not very important to me, but coffee is necessary for me. Next comes the checking of daily responsibilities between creative work and hanging out with friends.
I dedicate the second part of the day to work in my studio. I love being with my clients, it's a wonderful energy and love that we share with each other. My mission is to make them as happy as possible, so I am fulfilled at the end of the working day. My specialty is creative makeup and hairstyles. The rich experience in advertising campaigns, video spots, festivals and photo shoots dictates my pace in a working day. Every day at work is completely different for me, engagements can happen that sometimes last for 30 hours of active work, for example, if we shoot a video, but honestly that's what fulfills me because I see the work with loving eyes.
Since I played volleyball for six years, I still have that sportsmanship and when I'm not working, I replace my free time with sports, cycling or recreational time spent in the mountains, you can always find me there. I'm also a big foodie, living alone has taught me a lot of household tasks like cooking etc. Here I release stress and get to know myself by experimenting with different flavors of food.
I dedicate the third part of the day to myself and my loved ones. Spending time with loved ones fills "my batteries" with positive energy. There is nothing better than being with the ones you love, that small circle of sincere friends that you jealously hide and keep only for yourself. Laughter cures everything, and if all this is combined with a good cocktail, I ask for nothing more.
And finally, I end the day with a series or a movie. Lately I've been looking for "victims" to go to the movies, it's something I like to do this time of year. In return, I listen to online educations related to my profession. "I study best when everyone is asleep, it's a habit I've had since high school."
