German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said today at the G7 summit that there would be no going back to before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which has led to long-term changes in international relations.

"When the situation changes, we must change," Scholz told German television at the end of the second day of the G7 summit in the Bavarian Alps.

Scholz, who is hosting the summit, said G7 leaders had constructive talks today with representatives of visiting countries - India, Indonesia, Senegal, South Africa and Argentina - which he called "democracies of the future".

- It is good, important and necessary to talk to each other. Listening establishes mutual understanding and thus facilitates our work, he said.
