Shocking: Nothing shocks anymore

These days, the entire once revolutionary ideology is already a predominantly trivialized everyday life. The streets, the shops, the magazines, the blogs, everything is flooded with the image of the rebellious energy of the generations from the past decades, which has been a popular mainstream for many seasons. A paradox in itself or a real way of doing things?

Realistically, today, apart from commenting when someone does not know how to dress, we no longer react to the various, not always successful attempts at style combinations that we see more and more often on blogs and on the streets. Who knows what should be really special now to be horrified at the way the Puritans were disgusted at the zichernadls, tattoos, piercings and ripped punk jeans.

Punk at the time was more than a reaction from a few critics on duty. Punk caused disgust, suspicion, contempt and even fear in the eternal flawless souls who did not understand its essence. Punk was just a way of expressing dissatisfaction despite their impermissible behavior and music that equally shocked the public but also impressed young people.

It was not really hard to shock the public in the 60s and 70s of the last century. At that time people were far more conservative, the rules of conduct were stricter. and in general that time was somewhat puritanical. Suffice it to recall that the XNUMXs were a time of revolutionary years of student enlightenment, baby pills, the sexual revolution, and many fashion scandals (like the bells and miniatures, for example) to understand how we live now.

At that time many of what we take for granted today were at least inappropriate. Dispute was the adjective with which you comment on all of it with contempt, especially in terms of female behavior and dress. Today's basic rule has become that rules can be broken. In terms of clothing, very little of it can shock us today.

The rebellion was important, completely irrelevant in what way. Of course, this provided a wide space for media engagement, which gave punk a huge amount of attention, but was largely misinterpreted.

The "ordinary people" simply did not understand why anyone would behave in that way. They called it indecency, violence and destruction without even thinking of scratching below the surface. To ask themselves what these young people are rebelling against? Are they right? Probably few people were asking themselves these questions at the time, why if so, then it is very likely that you would agree with them.

But, as is usually the case, condemnation and criticism are often resorted to uncritically at the moment of danger when someone tries to shake up the "acceptable" value system.

Now the question remains why in this constellation of a certain value system a rebellious ideology has turned into a mainstream widely accepted by young people with no desire for the immanent need for energy to change the world.
