Schmidt addresses BiH Parliament tomorrow, RS officials announce boycott

The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, Deniz Zvizdic, said that the High Representative of the International Community in BiH, Christian Schmidt, would address the members of the body tomorrow, presenting his views on the current political situation and strategy.

After a session of the House of Representatives Collegium, which was not attended by representatives of Republika Srpska, Zvizdic said it was unknown whether they would appear at tomorrow's session. transmits Beta.

"It is their right and obligation to attend the sessions of the House of Representatives, for which they receive the highest salaries in BiH," Zvizdic said.

MPs from the RS House of Representatives have previously announced that they will not attend the session at which Schmidt will speak.

Representatives of Republika Srpska's ruling coalition do not recognize Schmidt as the new High Representative, as his appointment has not been confirmed by the UN Security Council.

The opposition from that entity does not participate in the work of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament either, stating that it is due to the decisions of the RS National Assembly, adopted after the imposition of the law banning the denial of genocide. .

It was then decided that RS representatives would not participate in the work of state institutions, primarily the Presidency, the Council of Ministers and the BiH Parliament.
