The winner of the final ATP Masters in Turin, Alexander Zverev, sided with Novak Djokovic and asked the political authorities in Australia to make an exception for the Serbian tennis player.

The Prime Minister of the state of Victoria announced that only vaccinated tennis players will participate in the Australian Open and they do not intend to make exceptions for anyone.

But Alexander Zverev asked the Australian authorities to make an exception when it comes to Novak Djokovic.

- It is difficult because this is a political issue, but the visit to the country has nothing to do with tennis. If the state allows us to enter, then we must follow the rules. I hope Novak will play. After all, I am the third tennis player in the world and if Novak does not play it will be easier for me to win the tournament. However, Novak is number one and he should be in Melbourne. I hope the Australian Government will make an exception or something so that Novak can also perform in Melbourne - said Zverev.

Novak Djokovic remains secretive when it comes to vaccination and does not reveal whether he has been vaccinated or not, as well as whether he will play in the Australian Open where he defends the title won this year after beating Danil Medvedev in the final.
