The candidate of SDSM for mayor of Skopje Petre Shilegov announced today that the citizens will be able to throw the rubble in the Drisla landfill for free, which will then process it and produce construction materials.

- Drisla in the next period received a large investment which solves one of the biggest problems, illegal landfills from construction debris which unfortunately are created by unscrupulous citizens. Drisla has already started with the treatment of the waste processing, installation of equipment for treatment of the processing of the waste from inert waste, ie what we see in the vicinity of our city. Thus, instead of paying for the dumping of rubble which now motivates some of the citizens to dump it illegally, and pollute nature, they will be able to do so for free at the landfill which will then process this rubble and produce construction materials, Shilegov said at today's press conference.

In Drisla, he stressed, everything is done legally, no dangerous imported waste is burned and thus the health of the citizens is no longer at risk.

- This is a real concern for the health of the citizens and good management of the public enterprises. Drisla was a symbol of corruption and crime of the previous government, a source of pollution and danger for the people of Skopje. In just four years, we have turned it into an efficient company where waste is treated safely and responsibly without endangering the environment, a company that is developing and which in the next term will grow into a modern center for waste treatment according to world standards, which will solve the problem of illegal landfills in our city, pointed out Shilegov.

In a year and a half, as he pointed out, they managed to purchase a new sterilizer for medical waste treatment from the famous Italian brand CISA, an innovative system fully automated with high technology and quality.

According to him, the procurement of the sterilizer put an end to the inadequate processing of medical waste, which then ended up in Drisla as ordinary waste, which posed a potential danger to the environment and the health of citizens.

- The medical waste treatment system is equipped with a shredder that reduces its volume by up to 80 percent, with a dry vacuum pump that contributes to saving water consumption by up to 98 percent, as well as an energy saving system that also provides environmentally friendly safety and prevents air from escaping the sterilizer and polluting the environment. The construction machines owned by Drisla and owned by her are completely serviced in the service of the company and are put back into use. We no longer spend money on renting construction machinery. Old and dilapidated off-road vehicles have been replaced by three new off-road vehicles, necessary for smooth movement on access roads to the landfill that are difficult to pass for light motor vehicles, added Shilegov.

After 10 years, he says, the drainage canals around the entire landfill are completely open. For regular measurement of ambient air, a new measuring station for ambient air has been procured with automatic updating of the data every one minute. New software for digitalization of business processes and landfill waste treatment processes in accordance with European standards has been introduced. A new video surveillance system has been installed so that the entire surface of the landfill is completely covered with cameras.

- Today, the citizens of Skopje can be calm, Drisla no longer poisons our city. In Sunday's election, we choose whether we want this development and protection of citizens' health to continue or whether we want to return Drisla back to the management of the same people who sold it for criminal purposes and knowingly poisoned the city and endangered our health. said Shilegov.

Asked what will be done with the temporary employees in the Skopje public companies, Shilegov said that they must resolve the status of these people to be issued permanent employment decisions, and that after the elections their salary should be increased.

- Various rumors are heard throughout the city, they come to me that the cake would have been shared between VMRO-DPMNE and the Alliance, so they would have been directors of public companies, they would have been directors, it is just an approach of people who de facto do not have it care for the city, but see the city of Skopje as political prey, not as a city of citizens. We must go further to resolve the status of these persons who were temporarily engaged in order to issue decisions for them for permanent employment and to restore the status of dignified citizens, said Shilegov.
