The Milan "Derby della Madonina", which was played within the 21st round in the Italian Serie A, belonged to Inter. Simone Inzaghi's players with Lautaro Martinez's goal they recorded a minimal victory against Milan, who suffered their fourth defeat in a row.

The Rossoneri have not won since January 4 when they beat Salernitana. Since then they have recorded five defeats and two draws. Among other things, they lost to Inter again, with a score of 3:0 in the Italian Super Cup trophy match in Riyadh.

The Italian public greeted this Milan series with a lot of criticism, most of which was directed at coach Stefano Pioli. The fans, as well as the media, believe that Pioli made a mistake by opting for a 3-5-2 formation against Inter and without the best player. Rafael Leao, who entered the game in the 55th minute.

Things are even worse for the reigning Italian champions if you look at just the last six games. In them, Milan was always the team that scored first. The Italian giants haven't had such a bad run since March and April 1974, when they were equally unsuccessful under the guidance of the legendary Cesare Maldini.

In the next round, Milan welcomes Torino and could break this infamous record. Milan, after their third consecutive league defeat, have fallen to sixth place in Serie A with 38 points, the same as fourth-placed Lazio and fifth-placed Atalanta, and face a big fight for a place in the Champions League.
