For a long time there has been a surge of requests for translations of diplomas and certificates of criminal record for seasonal work in Croatia. Many high school students, on the other hand, want to study in Slovenia, that's why translations of certificates are required for that too, say a translation agency in Skopje.

Translations of diplomas for completed education and certificates of criminal record are massively requested from translation agencies these days by Macedonian citizens who are preparing to leave for seasonal work in Croatia. In second place, the translators brief, are the documents for studies in Slovenia. If up to a year ago, documents for work in Germany were processed very quickly, now they are less attractive, and there are almost no translations of documents for seasonal work in Greece, although our southern neighbor also needs a lot of workers in tourism.

- If the document is intended for use in a country that is a signatory to the Hague Convention on Legalization, it is sufficient for it to be certified with an "apostille stamp of the court". In this way, its validity is confirmed and it can be used before the institutions in the respective country. One page of translation in Skopje costs from 300 to 350 MKD, while in the interior, where there is less competition between translators, it costs 600 MKD. For a long time now, there has been a surge of requests for translations of diplomas and certificates of criminal record for seasonal work in Croatia. Many high school students, on the other hand, want to study in Slovenia, that's why translations of certificates are required for that too - say a translation office in Skopje.

High salary, legal work, recorded work experience, health and pension insurance, paid overtime, are the main motives for accepting seasonal work, say the citizens. By the middle of April, we will run out of workers, predicts caterer Zdravko Josifovski for "Sloboden Pechat". He adds that in the past several agencies in Skopje have been recruiting for seasonal work in Croatia, where they are looking for waiters, cooks, maids and hygienists.

- The domestic catering sector remains without workers, the state must take some measures. The summer season is starting here too, the hotels and summer gardens are opening, and we don't have adequate staff. Who will serve the tourists? Some of the catering facilities are closed only because they have no staff or switch to self-service - adds Josifovski.

According to the information published by Index.hr. tourists in Croatia are slowly arriving, and the first big wave is expected in the coming days due to the upcoming holiday. It is estimated that this season could be a record. Employers are looking for workers from all areas – cooks, waiters, porters, receptionists, bartenders, cleaners, and a large number of them, judging by the information on the ads, should start working immediately. There are currently 1.008 active advertisements for waiters and 795 for cooks on the website of the Croatian Employment Service, most of which are for the tourist season. As for salaries, they vary from employer to employer. However, the biggest problem is the hotel chains, which, as a competition in offering higher wages, impose themselves on small private entrepreneurs, above all on apartment renters, who offer much higher wages for the work of a maid. The salary of a maid in a hotel is around 730 euros, and it is normal for female workers to be dissatisfied with it, especially in this inflation, says Eduard Andrić, president of the Croatian Tourist Union. Croatian caterers also complain that accommodation for workers is too expensive, so they try to hire local workers, but there are fewer and fewer of them.
