Sevilla sacked Sampaoli and brought in his replacement
The management of Sevilla fired the Argentine strategist, Jorge Sampaoli after the series of bad results in Primera.
Sampaoli took over the club at the end of last year and was fired after just six months. Sevilla have been defeated in four of their last seven league games, including a 6-1 loss to Atletico Madrid, and are currently just two points above the relegation zone.
"After the defeat against Getafe, the club decided to part ways with the Argentinian coach before the national team break. Sampaoli will no longer lead the team," reads the statement confirming his resignation.
A new coach has been appointed Jose Luis Mandilibar who signed a contract until the end of the season. In addition to the matches in La Liga, Sevilla also have a double-header with Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
