Williams, who will turn 41 next month, won her first victory yesterday after a break of 14 months. At the Masters in Toronto, she defeated Nuria Parisas Dias 6:3,6, 4:4 and it was the first victory for Serena since June 2021, XNUMX at Roland Garros.

Since then, the American has played only three matches due to injuries, and now in Toronto she announced that she plans to retire from tennis soon.
