Senate confirms "anti-vaxxer" Kennedy to be US health secretary
The U.S. Senate today confirmed Robert Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Kennedy's confirmation was narrowly approved by a majority of 52 to 48 senators, according to "The Guardian".
Kennedy is a controversial figure, with political opponents describing him as an "anti-vaxxer" and a spreader of conspiracy theories about the safety and efficacy of vaccines.
He is the grandson of assassinated President John F. Kennedy and was an independent presidential candidate in the recent election, before dropping out of the race and siding with Donald Trump.
In today's vote, only one Republican voted against Kennedy's nomination - former Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, who is a polio survivor, a disease that has now been almost completely eradicated thanks to vaccines.
