Family of the actress Ann Hatch said the actress is "not expected to survive" after the serious car accident that left her vehicle engulfed in flames last Friday.

"We want to thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers for Ann's recovery and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses who cared for Ann at the Burn Center Grossman at the hospital West Hills. Unfortunately, as a result of her accident, Ann Hatch suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. He is not expected to survive," the statement said.

“Anne had a huge heart and touched everyone she met with her generosity. He had more than his extraordinary talent, he considered spreading kindness and joy his life's work. She will be remembered for her brave honesty and will be greatly missed for her light," the statement added.

The police said on Thursday CNN that they are investigating whether Hatch was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident after the blood was drawn, but that "further testing is needed to rule out any substances that were administered at the hospital," the officer said.
