Four members of a family who were previously kidnapped have been found dead on a farm in California, the Merced County Sheriff said, reports ABC News. Eight-month-old Arohi Deri, her parents Jaslin Kaur, 27, Jasdeep Singh, 36, and the baby's uncle Amandeep Singh were abducted on Monday.

The motive for the kidnapping and murder is currently unknown, and the crime scene investigation is still ongoing. The suspect is Jesus Manuel Salgado (48). He attempted suicide on Tuesday and is currently in critical condition.

At 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Jasdeep Singh arrived at the family business, followed a few minutes later by his brother Amandeep Singh. Then they saw someone moving along the highway nearby. After Jasdeep Singh noticed him, he made contact with him. The suspect then pulled out a gun and entered the store.

Jaideep and Amandeep Singh were seen exiting the building, apparently with their hands tied behind their backs and sitting in the back seat. The suspect took them to an unknown location, and then after a few minutes he returned to the company's parking lot and went inside. Less than a minute later, Jesleen Kaur and her 8-month-old baby came out with him, and then he took them to the same place.

The sheriff's office announced Tuesday that Amandeep Singh's car was found burning. The sheriff said he believes at least one other person was involved in the crime.
