Melt In Your Mouth: A German Recipe for Quick Chocolate Cake and Biscuits

For many Germans, the expression "kalter hund" (translated as "cold dog") takes them back to their childhood, it says "full buffer".

It is a popular dessert for which you do not need many ingredients, and its preparation will not take much time.

Basic ingredients are biscuits and chocolate. As for the biscuits, you can use plain or with butter, and quality chocolate will contribute to the fine taste of the cake.

Ingredients needed:

  • 200 grams of biscuits with butter
  • 150 grams of dark chocolate
  • 450 grams of milk chocolate
  • 150 grams of coconut oil
  • 1 cup of whipped cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rum (optional)

Preparation:

Cover the cake pan with aluminum foil. Crush the chocolate into small pieces and melt the chocolate and coconut oil together in a saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly. Then add the cream, sugar and vanilla and mix until the mixture is smooth. At the end, add rum as desired and mix.

Cover the mold with a thin layer of chocolate on the bottom of the container and arrange the biscuits. Cover again with a new layer of chocolate cream, then arrange a new row of biscuits and continue until you have used up all the ingredients to end up with a layer of chocolate.

Let the resulting cake stand for about three hours in the refrigerator so that it hardens nicely.
