The storm that hit Delchevo tonight caused great damage to the City Market, part of the roof of the school "Vancho Prke" was demolished, several streets are under water and impassable, and part of the city is still without electricity.
Due to the clearing of the damages, the traffic on the highway A3 from the city to Makedonska Kamneica is difficult.
The city market in Delchevo is in a very bad condition after the storm that happened today around 19:30. The stalls are overturned, the damage caused is huge. The primary school "Vancho Prke" is nearby, where part of the roof was destroyed by the storm.
The street in front of the school is blocked due to the broken sheets from the strong wind that fell on the road. Utility crews are already on the ground and intervening to remove fallen trees. Part of the city has no electricity, more precisely the part on the left side of the river Bregalnica which is in darkness.
The director of the Communal Enterprise "Bregalnica" Stojce Stojkovski told MIA that according to the initial information from the Department for PPP, from their observations in the field, as well as from the information from the Police Station in the city, the priority is to clear the roads from the city to the border crossing. , as well as fallen trees that are registered in many places.
- We are in coordination with all services, with the Crisis Management Center. We work with all our facilities, all employees are in the field. The priority is to clear the roads, except where there are fallen electric poles where work is done in coordination with which they maintain public lighting so that they can be safely approached for removal, said Stojkovski.
He added that so far there is no information whether the surrounding villages were damaged by the storm, and so far there is no information on injuries.
Due to the storm, which is unprecedented so far, the filter station in Trabotivishte is without electricity and the water supply is currently done exclusively through the dam Losana, so it is recommended to the citizens not to use the water for drinking.
He appealed to the citizens to remain calm and inform if there is a need for interventions by the public enterprise.
MP Sonja Mihailovska, who is a doctor by profession, confirmed for MIA that according to the information received from the Emergency Medical Service in Delchevo, no one has been injured so far.
A meeting of the competent institutions is expected to be held tonight in order to determine the further actions for repairing the damage from the storm.
