The letter with which Marlon Brando broke up with his girlfriend is for sale
The handwritten letter from the young man Marlon Brando in which he ended his relationship with a French woman in the late 1940s can be sold at auction for $15.000, writes CNN.
The letter is addressed to Solange Podell, with whom Brando had an affair while he was a star on Broadway. Boston's RR Auction is selling the letter online, with the auction ending on February 9.
"I'm writing you this letter to explain that because of my eccentric and explosive temper I don't want to humiliate and hurt your feelings by seeing you only when it suits my mood," wrote Marlon Brando, star of The Godfather, " Apocalypse Now," "The Last of Us," in the three-page letter.
According to RR Auction's description, Brando and Podell met backstage in 1947 during the filming of A Streetcar Named Desire. After the break, Brando continued his career in Hollywood, while Podel turned to photography. Brando won two Oscars for Best Actor for The Godfather and On the Docks.
