Three more new German investments are expected
There are more than 25.000 Macedonian workers in German companies here. The delegation of the German economy organized a breakfast with the Prime Minister
More than 100 managers of German, Macedonian and other international companies that are leaders in the country's economy participated in the business breakfast with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski organized by the Delegation of the German Economy AHK, part of the network of German chambers abroad, and Macedonian - the German business association.
- In the past years, most of the German investors working in the country decided to reinvest in North Macedonia, and not in any other market. I am especially pleased that at the same time we are also diversifying the sectors in which investments are made. Although investors from the automotive industry are the most numerous, we also have investments in the health sector, IT services, production of special textiles for seats in trucks, trains and buses, household appliances, protective clothing, production of batteries for electric bicycles, production of copper cables, but also call centers that employ a large number of people and are considered very desirable employers - says the director of AHK North Macedonia, Antje Wandelt.
Wandelt also announced that the growth of economic cooperation is evident, so that the trade between the two countries is 5 billion euros and that there are more than 25.000 Macedonian workers in German companies here. She also pointed out that their focus is on chains with Macedonian suppliers.
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said that in the coming period he expects, in addition to the already announced four investments, there will be three more from German investors.
- We have already started several investments. Today we expect another cornerstone of another Belgian-German investment. However, in the coming period we expect the start of new investments by companies that are already present in the country. The expansion of the production of the companies, the expansion of the portfolio of these companies is expected. We as the government will do everything in our power to help in this because for me and for the government there is no greater satisfaction when you open a new job, that is, to help a citizen stay at home instead of leaving - said Mickoski.
