The closure of all facilities of "Post Serbia" in the north of Kosovo is expected

In the north of Kosovo, six facilities of "Post Serbia" have been closed so far, informed the deputy commander of the Kosovo police for the northern region, Veton Eljshani. The reason, as he announced, is the operation without a license. He announced that the remaining three will probably be closed as well.

Kosev told the portal that the current action, during which the Kosovo police entered all nine "Post" facilities in four municipalities in the north of Kosovo at around 14 p.m., was carried out "after they received information that those facilities were operating without a license", reported Beta.

- Today around 14 pm, the police conducted an operation at nine locations in the north of Kosovo, after we received information and a request from the authority for the regulation of electronic postal communication from Prishtina that there are post offices in the north of Kosovo that are not licensed, or rather not registered, Eljshani said. , reported MIA.

Action is underway at three more locations, and the other six are closed, Kosev informs.

- We have entered these nine locations, so far we have closed six facilities. After seeing that they don't have licenses, it's likely that all nine establishments will be closed. So far, the work has been going smoothly, he said.

Eljsani did not specify what exactly was taken from those items in the paper bags that the police took out, but it is assumed that they are the documents of the Republic of Serbia, and he could not confirm whether money was seized.

- The police procedure is such that if we find any evidence, then we take it and bring it to the prosecutor, and he decides what to do with it. I cannot say what exactly was taken, probably stamps and documents. It depends on what is found, he said on the eve of the closing of the seventh facility, the main post office in Kosovska Mitrovica.

In May of this year, the Kosovo police already closed the Ministry of Finance and five branches of the Postal Savings Bank in the north of Kosovo.

The director of the Office of the Government of Serbia for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said that today's action by the Kosovo police was "illegal", that is, it was carried out in violation of the 2015 telecommunications agreement, which states that all questions about postal services will be resolve exclusively within the dialogue.

Petkovic said that the Kosovo police, in addition to the facilities of "Post Serbia", also entered the premises of the Treasury of the Postal Bank in Leposavic.
