In the academic year 2022/2023, a decrease in the number of students in regular primary and secondary schools was observed compared to the previous academic year, according to data from the State Statistics Office.

The number of students in primary schools is 185.099, which is a decrease of 0,8 percent. 69.227 students are registered in secondary schools, which represents a decrease of 2,5 percent compared to the previous school year.

In the first semester alone, about 130 students graduated from Prilep schools and went abroad with their parents.

In the last four months, 200 students or about seven whole classes from Tetovo secondary and primary schools have moved abroad.

And Kumanovo has not moved away from the trend of emigration from the country, which can be seen from the number of enrolled students. In the school year 2020/2021, there were 4.508 students in secondary schools in the city, this year that number is 4.126 students. The situation is similar in Kumanovo primary schools. Last school year, 1.208 students were enrolled, and in 2022/2023, 1.070 students were enrolled.
