The liberation of Crimea seems inevitable, Ukraine believes it will regain the peninsula
Ukraine is beginning to believe it can liberate Crimea, a peninsula that was annexed by Russia in 2014. This was stated by Tamila Tasheva, Volodymyr Zelensky's representative in charge of Crimea, after a few days of discussing with her team what steps Ukraine should take in the event that Ukrainian forces take control of that peninsula.
It should be noted that no serious military analyst suggests that Ukraine could soon be in a position to liberate the peninsula that Russia annexed eight years ago, but Ukrainian authorities, after liberating the strategically important city of Liman in the Donetsk region, are increasingly convinced that it is possible to liberate Crimea as well.
"This is a crucial moment. At the moment, everything is happening in such a way that the liberation of Crimea seems inevitable," Tasheva said, adding: "It may not happen tomorrow, but I think we will liberate Crimea much faster than I thought a year ago." .
Tasheva says that "it is very important to ensure that everything is ready on time, not when it happens."
"When Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, they were ready to establish their rule on the peninsula. And we must be ready," she added.
