Detention is being sought for a 20-year-old boy who tried to burn an Albanian flag last night
The basic public prosecutor's office in Skopje initiated a procedure against a 20-year-old boy from Skopje, for whom there is a well-founded suspicion that he has committed a crime - Causing hatred, discord or intolerance on national, racial, religious and other discriminatory grounds from article 319 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, announced JO.
"On 02.12.2024, in the evening hours, the suspect tried to burn the Albanian national flag, during which he was noticed and prevented by police officers who detained him," said the Ministry of the Interior.
The competent public prosecutor submitted to the judge of the preliminary procedure from the Basic Criminal Court Skopje a proposal for the determination of a detention measure.
