The government and the parliamentary majority of the SDSM take care of the pensioners and in the time of the biggest world crisis, the showing of pensions continues, MP Sanela Shkrijelj said today at a press conference.

- Only this year, SDSM raised the pensions for all 330.000 pensioners by a total of 10 percent. With an inclusive approach, through dialogue, together with the pensioners, we established the new methodology for adjusting pensions. Now pensions, systematically, without political influences and lump-sum decisions, are raised twice a year, based on the rise in the cost of living and the growth of the average salary. According to the new methodology, we increased pensions this year by 2,9 percent in March, and now, in September, an even bigger increase of 6,8 percent followed. Only with the last increase of 6,8 percent, we provided an additional 1.200 denars per month for pensioners who receive an average pension - said Shkrijelj.

It is our duty, she added, to ensure a decent old age and support for all pensioners, especially in times of crisis.

- Already in March next year, there will be a new adjustment of pensions. According to estimates, it will amount to about 6 percent, which means that pensions will grow by 12 percent in just 16 months. Thanks to the responsible policies of SDSM, today the pension fund is stable, pensions are growing and are paid out early - said the MP.
