The parliamentary group of SDSM does not give up the law on defenders, sent a letter to the President of the Assembly Afrim Gashi and expects him to answer if and when he will schedule the session of the competent parliamentary committee on the law on defenders. SDSM expects Gashi to do the same as he did with the Hungarian loan law.

- If he does not apply the same principle, we expect an explanation. SDSM will take over all the democratic mechanisms that are available - it is said in the letter to Gashi.

On the other hand, the government partners the prime minister Hristijan Mickoski и Arben Taravari from the Vredi coalition did not at all discuss compensation for the defenders, as well as resolving the status of the former members of the NLA.

This means that neither the defenders nor the former members of the ONA are on the government's agenda, and it is certain that the law submitted by the MP of the SDSM Slavjanka Petrovska, will remain stuck in the Parliament. The president of the Commission for Social Policies Ilire Dauti she refused to convene a session for the defenders, and the President of the Assembly Afrim Gashi did not call her to account because she convened a committee, but without a point for the defenders.

VMRO-DPMNE and the Vredi coalition did not discuss the announcements by the Albanian coalition partner in the government that they will demand that the former members of the NLA have equal rights as the defenders.

- No, we have not discussed that topic. We have announced our position many times: the defenders had, have and will have my support - Mickoski said.

When asked that the president of the Commission, Ilire Doughty, does not discuss the law on defense attorneys, Mickoski said that the question should be put to her, but he is determined that Doughty should put the discussion on defense attorneys on the agenda.

Taravari, on the other hand, does not understand why, as he says, there is drama about the law for defenders.

– This is the seventh time it has been brought up and now I don't think it's the time to discuss such topics. I think that point will not be treated for now, nor will it help, but nothing tragic - says Taravari.

He added that the opposition parties, especially those that are part of the European Front, have passed such a law six times.

- This is not the time to discuss it - Taravari is decisive.

SDSM called on Doughty to call a session for the defenders for the legal solution to pass the parliamentary bodies so that the deputies can pass the law. After Doughty said that as long as she is the president of the Commission, there will never be a debate about the defenders unless the members of the NLA get equal rights like them, Petrovska called on VMRO-DPMNE as the largest ruling party to use its influence and for the law to be passed .

And Levica called out VMRO-DPMNE for the law on defenders.

– We will support the law. It is very interesting how everything went through the committees as it should for borrowing, but it did not pass for the law on defenders. VMRO-DPMNE should become aware and use all mechanisms to pass this law - said Amar Mecinović from Levica.

The draft law, which has been blocked in the Commission, has caused fierce reactions in the Albanian political bloc. According to Vredi and the European Front, there will be no solution for the defenders if there is no solution for the former members of the ONA.

Even yesterday, the Speaker of the Parliament did not answer whether he would take anything in relation to the Commission for Social Policies and which article of the Rules Gashi refers to that he himself decides whether to schedule a commission or not when the president of the working body does not do so within the legal term. Gashi does not even answer to which article of the Rules of Procedure the chairwoman of the Commission Doughty chooses on her own which point she will discuss.
