The former director of the Security and Counterintelligence Administration, Sasho Mijalkov, is free, "360 Degrees" reported. This morning at 9:30 a.m. he checked out of the Struga prison where he was serving his sentence for the "Empire" case.

- He was an example for other convicts. He left today around 9:30 am. He respected the house order, he helped the others in the work engagements inside the prison, in tidying up the park, the director of the Struga prison Valjon Kura told the media and added that the claim that Mijalkov was not in the prison at all is speculation and untruth.

The director claims that as of yesterday, Mijalkov was working as a driver for the needs of the prison.

- It was working until yesterday. He drove the vehicle for our needs, through Struga and Ohrid, said Kura.

The condition for Mijalkov's freedom is that he does not commit a crime until April 25, 2025. He was charged with criminal association and with illegal acquisition and concealment of assets. According to the Public Prosecutor's Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption, led at the time by prosecutor Vilma Ruskovska, his property was valued at 30 million euros, but later that value was halved with another estimate.
