Legendary footballer Samuel Eto'o has submitted an official candidacy for the presidency of the Cameroon Football Federation (CAF).
- Dear friends, I am honored to be able to announce my candidacy for the position of President of the Football Federation of Cameroon. After much thought, I decided to take this step because I love Cameroon and because of my passion for football. Waiting is not an option, it is time to rebuild our football. "We can not wait for others to move forward," Eto'o said in an interview with Cameroonian media, which he posted on his Twitter account.
The current president of CAF is Seidu Mbombo Njoye, who took office in 2018, but his election was annulled this year by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and new elections will be held in December this year.
