A solo exhibition with an intense, honest and dedicated artistic focus will open in New York

AP Space Gallery in New York

Macedonian artist Marija Pavlovska will present herself with a solo exhibition at the "AP Space" gallery in New York. The opening of the exhibition will be held on March 16, and the display will be on view until April 11, 2024.

The presentation is supported and realized in cooperation with the "Monica" Foundation and "Mana Contemporary" from New York.

Marija Pavlovska is a contemporary artist who recently received the "Leonardo Da Vinci" award of the "Efeto arte" foundation for international activity and presence on the international art market.

A notice of her exhibition at New York's AP Space gallery notes that it will feature works she has produced over the past 20 years, from her earliest works on paper to her recent monumental, large-scale canvases, tracing the evolution of her artwork.

"Having the opportunity to work with Maria at this point in her career is a great privilege," said Jean Park, founder of AP Space Gallery.

– In her conceptually electrifying, aesthetically bold art she is uncompromising in execution. She uses polarized black and white colors, is characterized by a specific expressive style that is unique, both in the Balkan region and internationally. Her vibrant paintings – composed of striking, non-existent strokes – cover polarized opposites: light and dark, full and empty, black and white.

Maria's work carries the same intense, honest, dedicated focus that is so evident in her personality. She has developed the ability to communicate deeply through the pure linear, gestural movement that composes her paintings. The intense energy of her artwork appears spontaneous, but is actually the result of thoughtful study, creating actions and responses that occur within the work over a period of time. A single canvas or a series of drawings can take months to fully realize and carry that concentration of thought and action, and we look forward to bringing her art to the general public - points out Jean Park.

Marija Pavlovska is an emerging artist with two and a half decades of continuous presence on the European contemporary art scene and an active presence internationally in the USA and Asia. From Skopje to Ljubljana, Belgrade, Vienna, Berlin, Paris, New York, Manila, Miami, Venice and Florence, the themes in her artistic portfolio range between polarization and globalism.
