The resolution of the case will depend on the position of the MPs from the ruling SDSM and DUI - they are the majority in the Commission, so Xhaferi can be punished only if they assess that he has violated the Code of Ethics.

Is the President of the Assembly Talat Xhaferi will be punished for vulgar, offensive words which he addressed to the parliamentary officials will be known next week when the chairman of the Committee on Rules of Procedure and Mandate Immunity Issues Pance Minov, announced that he will convene the session. Xhaferi has no confirmation whether he will face MPs from VMRO-DPMNE and GROM who were present in the plenary hall during the incident or will declare in writing.

The resolution of the case will depend on the position of the MPs from the ruling SDSM and DUI - they are the majority in the Commission, so Xhaferi can be punished only if they assess that he has violated the Code of Ethics.

- The Commission will not determine whether the recording is authentic because according to Article 123 of the Rules of Procedure, the working bodies can not have investigative or other judicial functions. The commission will discuss the evidence submitted by VMRO-DPMNE that the Code of Ethics has been violated and will call witnesses who the opposition party said were present in the plenary hall during the incident - Minov told "Free Press".

After listening to the recording and the testimonies of the MPs, the Commission will vote to determine whether Xhaferi violated the Code. Unlike the inquiry commissions, which were formed in the Parliament after fights and other incidents between MPs and whose reports went to the plenary session, the epilogue for Xhaferi will be known after the vote of the members of the Commission, because there is no report that would went to the plenary.

Minov informed Xhaferi that there are charges against him for violating the Code of Ethics and that he will schedule a session to comply with the parliamentary procedure.

VMRO-DPMNE this week filed a complaint with the Commission with a copy of the recording from the parliamentary channel alleging that Xhaferi committed a serious violation of the Code of Ethics. The opposition informs that will testify MPs Aleksandar Nikolovski, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova и Olga Lozanovska from VMRO-DPMNE and Ljupcho Prendzov from GROM, who were present in the plenary hall.

The Left also demanded Xhaferi's suspension.

- The least we expect is that the Commission will issue a public reprimand and suspension of MP Talat Xhaferi, as well as a ban on chairing the Assembly for a month. The attached video shows that Xhaferi puts pressure on the employees during the execution of their work tasks with words and expressions with which he disparages them and insults their dignity - say from the Left.

A week has passed since the event, and neither SDSM nor DUI commented on the recording. The Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski says that it does not show who is talking to whom, but pointed out that the procedure for clearing up the case should be led by the Parliament.

If the Commission finds that Xhaferi has violated the Code, he can be punished on three grounds - a public announcement, a one-month suspension and a ban on chairing the Assembly's working bodies for up to a month.
