The US Department of Defense today announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth 1,2 billion dollars, which also includes anti-aircraft systems, ammunition and money for training soldiers.

This US Ukraine Assistance Initiative (USAI) package underscores the continued commitment of the United States to meet Ukraine's most urgent requirements, such as the deployment of air defense systems and munitions, while building the capacity of Ukraine's armed forces to defend its territory and deter Russian aggression for a long period of time, the statement from the Pentagon states.

The US Department of Defense also indicates that 155 mm artillery shells will be sent, but also that commercial satellite imagery services and support for training and maintenance activities will be provided.
