Russian security forces killed the prisoners who were holding two guards hostage

Russian security forces stormed a detention center in southern Russia and killed six inmates who were holding two prison guards hostage, Russian media reported.

Six inmates who took two guards hostage at a detention center in the city of Rostov-on-Don have been "liquidated," Russian media reported.

- The hostages in the detention center in Rostov-on-Don are unharmed, the Federal Prison Service of Russia said.

It was previously announced that the six prisoners had rubber batons, knives and axes, and among them there are those accused of ties to the Islamic State group.
