The "Russian Dicaprio" was sent to fight in Ukraine after he gained too much weight and ruined his career
Roman Burtsev (41), a Russian known as a lookalike of Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, received an invitation to join Vladimir Putin's army after being overweight ruined his acting career, writes "Sun" (The Sun).
DiCaprio's body double, who shot to fame playing the American actor, revealed he missed out on many new business opportunities after gaining weight. He hoped that the role of a double would bring him fame, fortune and a family, but engagements in commercials, such as the one for "Five Lakes" vodka, were still not enough.
Before he started working as DiCaprio's double, Burtsev was an IT specialist. Before joining the army, the "Russian Dicaprio" lived with his parents and a cat in a rented state apartment in Podolsk, near Moscow. Burtsev is actually eight years younger than the Hollywood star.
Since his acting career did not bear fruit, he occasionally worked in a market and in a hardware store, but that was not enough for him financially, so he ended up in Putin's army.
