The Russian ambassador in London warned that the war in Ukraine could escalate
The Russian ambassador in London warned that the war in Ukraine could escalate as Great Britain and Western countries continue to supply weapons to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, DPA reported.
Andrei Kelin told the BBC that the actions of the NATO countries, and "especially" those of Britain, created the risk of a continuation of the war and the emergence of a "new dimension" of hostilities.
He added that Russia has "huge resources" and even though the fighting has been going on for more than a year, his country has not yet "started to act too seriously". - Russia is 16 times bigger than Ukraine. We have huge resources, Kellyn emphasized.
– Sooner or later, of course, this escalation can take on a new dimension, and we don't need and don't want that. We can achieve peace tomorrow, the Russian diplomat added.
Asked about the widespread and mounting evidence of Russian war crimes, Kelin responded that Ukraine is the one committing war crimes. He then reversed course and said the UN did not have the authority to investigate war crimes, DPA noted.
