A Russian journalist was killed in the attacks in Zaporozhye

Semyon Eremin, a war correspondent for the Russian newspaper Izvestia, was killed in a drone strike on Friday in Zaporozhye, southeastern Ukraine.

According to the Russian newspaper, 42-year-old Eremin was mortally wounded in the Zaporozhye region from where he was reporting.

On behalf of Izvestia, he covered some of the bloodiest battles during the war in Ukraine. Among them, the battle to capture Mariupol, which in 2022 was besieged by Russian troops for almost three months.
