Russia has introduced anti-terrorist measures in three border regions
As of today, the Russian authorities are introducing anti-terrorist measures in three regions bordering Ukraine, Russian media reports.
The special regime will apply to the Kursk region, where Moscow says its forces are fighting Ukrainian encroachment, as well as the Belgorod and Bryansk regions.
The measures include possible displacement of residents, restriction of transport in certain areas, increased security around sensitive areas and wiretapping of telephone and other communications.
The Russian measures follow after Ukrainian forces launched a major offensive in the Kursk region three days ago.
Over a thousand Ukrainian soldiers entered the area, supported by tanks and other armored vehicles
