The head of Russia's foreign intelligence service (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin said today that Russia is close to achieving its goals in Ukraine, and Moscow, he said, has the strategic initiative in all areas of the war.

- The situation on the front does not favor Kiev, said Sergey Naryshkin, the head of the Russian foreign intelligence service.

He states that the strategic initiative in all areas belongs to Russia.

- We are close to achieving our goals, while the Ukrainian armed forces are on the verge of collapse, he said.

Naryshkin added that for Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has lost his legitimacy and "ability to negotiate".
